Diana
25, Cicero

Like many parents during a global pandemic, Diana often found herself at a loss for words when it came to explaining the situation to her two boys, 7-year-old Noel and 8-year-old Benjamin. “They were so scared. They kept asking me ‘When will COVID be over?’, and I couldn’t give them an answer.”

While the boys have kept busy building Lego sets and e-learning, Diana knows this just isn’t the same as their normal play dates, in-person classes and family visits to the carnival.

The 25-year-old mother and medical assistant at a cardiologist’s office has seen her friends, family, and patients lose their loved ones to COVID-19, and knows this is her shot for a brighter and healthier future – for her community and her family.
